Then came the denial that the reigning 6 time world champions and defending champions of the title could not head in a single goal and were to be booted out before they even reached the semis.
Lastly, it was with GREAT HUMONGOUS RELUCTANCE that the final score was accepted, and it came along with sobs of devastation melded with disbelief and emptiness.
I know my reaction was shared by many this early morning at 5 am local time when Brazil, favourites to win this World Cup'06, bowed out of the competition, way WAY earlier than expected. I was crushed. I just sat in front of my computer and cried while the damned commentators went on about France's success on ESPN. Ronaldo, usually all smiles with his cute bucktooth grin, looked like he was about to break down. It made me cry even more.
this was what Ronaldo, all time record holder with 15 goals in his entire world cup career, had to say:
"I’m very sad, very disappointed with this defeat. We had plans to go much further, but it didn’t happen. France were the better team, and when all’s said and done, that’s football. We are proud of how we battled and what we sacrificed in order to get this far. France didn’t surprise us. We knew that they were a great team, and they showed that. They played great football, intelligent football that got the better of us."
At the 85th min, I started to despair but I still held on to one last glimmer of hope that Brazil would create a miracle, but I was so scared for them I started to cry even though the match hadn't ended.
When the damned additional time ran out and the whistle blown, I just sat there shaking my head in horror, the tears momentarily suspended from disbelief. Afterwhich it was tears and tear and more tears. I just sat there and cried till 0530. I went to sleep with hope that I'd wake up to find it all a nighmare.
But it was just not meant to be. Brazil, my all time fav team, my samba dancers on the football field, my sexy best midfielder Kaka, my top-scorer Ronaldo, my Ronaldinho with feet that move so swift, my Dida the great goalkeeper, Adriano, Cafu, Cicinho, Juninho, Robinho, Emerson,Lucio, Ze Roberto, Roberto Carlos, Gilberto Silva all sent home with this heartbreaking loss. The Brazillians must be crushed, and I fully understand their pain.
I'd LOVE to curse and swear at the French players, but I know it wouldn't help anything, and Brazillians are definitely NOT sore-losers, judging by what they said.
KAKA : "We lost because we didn’t impose our style of play on them at any stage. Right now, it’s difficult to say why that happened. If we knew, then we would have done something about it on the pitch."
ROBINHO: "Life is a learning curve. We learn when we win, but you also learn when you lose. It was my first World Cup and I’m sad because I didn’t manage to become a world champion. "
Nevertheless, Brazil will always remain World Champions in my heart. So, before I end this, here's a tribute to the everlasting glory of the Brazil Team of '06.

RONIN CAME TO PLAY AT OUR SCHOOL TODAY!!

I like Levan Wee. hahah. he's damn rockerrrr I love. By the way, Ronin is a local rock band that started out about 3 years ago, they're really cool and are making their way to music-industry stardom by taking liitle steps such as performing for schools like ours yay yay yay. They're also holding a concert soon! Ok hahah I'm like helping them advertise, which is kinda good. Our local music industry needs all the support we can give them, so if you like rock music, support Ronin, or any other local bands in Singapore. West Grand Boulevard will also be playing at the concert together with Ronin and 3dash1 and a few other bands. I feel like going teehee.

after school we went to PS and had pizza hut for lunch. wanted to watch movie but it was getting late and more importantly, we had no money. our cab-driver is a lovely fellow, he gave us a discount of 40 cents cos we sang him 'yue liang dai biao wo de xin'. hahah it;s not alot but to us it was a delightful gesture, esp since Diana the cow had only 5 bucks hahah. and he was quite amusing and funny. nice cow. should give him a GEMS card, but unfortunately we didn't have any with us sorry Mr Lo-something. Gosh, um bodyshop was having this wonderful sale and I bought bodysoap and scrub and papaya bodybutter. maybe I should slop some on my hamster cos he stinks.

I know ah I never blog after my first two entries. SORRY mangali pumpkin pie.
anyway yesterday, friday, 19 May'06, was our annual cross country run at MacRitchie. Before the race for sec 4s started, we took photos hahah so er xin horX. This is my fav photo :
I didn't run cos I had mc heehee. anyway, the buffalo, diana and the bunch of bananas walked. mooooo.
after that we had prize-giving as usual, I'm very impressed with all the winners (top 20 etc) and I think the sec 4 lot were putting in alot of effort to win since it's their (and mine, except sorry, i cannot run. as in i can run, but i can't win, ever) last year in cedar.
After everything had ended we sang our school song and cleared up before going to take a bus to thomson plaza for lunch. leezalee is a neh hahah.
anyway we had swensons yay yay yay! xiongdi and I shared a grilled samba fish dish and a chicken baked rice. yummmm. the food were just as delicious as the company:

Mangali! Today, as I was going to the minimart (hahah natasha) to buy instant noodles (nissin's tom yam seafood, it's brillo and adding a bit of vinegar gives it extra kick, YUM), I saw on the pathway!!!

I've got to admit I was a little scared. but there was this malay lady and her son approaching my way and I certainly didn't want to squeal in front of a primary school boy. so! I tried to act brave by side-stepping it and looking nonchalant. BUT HOR!! NO! it wouldn't let me loh. cos the malay lady walked by on its right and i was on the other side, it ran away from the lady towards ME! HENCE! my plan to remain composed failed and I kinda moved very quickly off its path while making this small squeaky noise :/ so much for acting courageous. darn.
Sigh. Now I am all alone with the computer and a currypuff, while my mother potters about the house and my dad reads the newspapers.
I tell you my dad is damn gross LOhXzZx. He brings back his silly d&t exam papers to mark and makes me help him by saying things that seem innocent for a 55-year-old man, but are actually NOT. "Eh you wanna help daddy mark papers? cos I know you like marking the mcq (which actually I do lahhhh but he's still scheming I dont care) and I'm so worn out by all those students." Voila, in a matter of minutes I am sitting at the dining table marking his silly exam scripts. However, I do delight in marking their scripts mainly becos they write the funniest things. Their spelling isn't very good, neither is mine sometimes, so I'm not discriminating against them, but they're really funny.
EXAMPLE. the answer to a qn was supposed to be "gloves". this fine fella forgot what they were called and wrote "hand clothes", much to my amusement (: for the same qn, another tried spelling goggles to no avail, ending up with "glooges" and yet another spelled gloves as "govles". another got so fed up with this page asking them to fill in the blanks w/o helping word (I agree it's quite hard) he wrote on this blank "abragadraba", which I interpreted to mean "abracadabra", perhaps he needed some divine help eh? I laughed a full minute. My dad then took the chance to mention a sec 4 student's answer to anoher qn, which I thought was quite brilliant. He wrote, "Pls refer to the textbook". HAHAHAH. perhaps I should try it. hmmm. However, one must remember that not all are good with languages, so we must give them due credit for all their other abilities. My dad says they're very good with their hands, able to make beautiful woodwork and other such creations, which I must add, is impressive cos I can't do all that. I'd always made the instructor help me cut wood cos I was scared of the machine. hmmmmm :/
OK dad is making use of child labour (me, except I'm not a child anymore) again, have to add marks for him. mmm, my currypuff is getting cold. GOT TO GO. yum.

CELEBRATION TIME!
hahah so after our LAST paper, sophia (xiongdi) and I headed over to Novabelle's house to change and freshen up before we met Diana and Gwen at Suntec forrrrrrr KBOX!!! hahah we had a pretty good time there lah especially for the loud albeit silly songs like I.O.I.O and tuo diao and we were happy singing jay chou songs and Novabelle of course, sang all her stephanie sun like an angel. A singing angel lah obviously (:
Diana shook her extremely sexy booty to elva hsiao's zhu da ge. I remember that scene all too well. Her dancing was steaming hahah just like her butt. To think we always make fun of her small butt! DON'T even think about it now, cos if you do, she will give it a good mighty shake that can challenge an experienced boot-shaker (not to be confused with boot-licker thank you) and knock you off your feet. Boys (whom the owner of that butt does not like) will drool at her. hahah, I'd like to watch her shake it one more time. PLS DIANA!!!!
hahah anyway it was xiongdi's first time to kbox so I hoped she had fun. From the looks of it, she did enjoy herself I think. anyway we kept making up dance steps together with gwen for nonsensical songs. hahah can we do that again my fav beng and xiongdi?
UMMMM! After that xiongdi and novabelle left and we met Liane for a movie. We caught the 5.25pm show for 'When a stranger calls'. Gwen and I were sitting together cos we were sharing nachos and the same arrangement went for Diana and Liane. Gwen and I were so rattled becos of the music and atmosphere the movie cast upon us we kept trying to talk crap so we'd feel less scared. Kinda worked a bit lah hahah. Oh and we kept like concentrating on the nachos so it's take our minds off the horrid dark house the movie was shot in.
It was a goooood thriller, I was nearly hypervendilating at the climax of the show. Diana took 5 mins to recover after it ended hahah cow. However, the ending was a bit strange/abrupt/HUH? and left us with a number of unanswered questions about the plot.
After that we just anyhow kia (walk), with Diana Chan cow resting her arm on mine AGAIN, and shopped. hahah I have a happy-face ring! (:
Finally, liane and diana bought muffins. the free one was shared by me and gwen, how poor right hahah. THANK YOU LIANE AND DIANA!! yum chocolate chip muffin.
WENT HOME. MRT WAS SO SQUISHY. I FELT LIKE A BANANA BEING STEPPED ON. SQUELCH!
